How To Use WeRaise

Wondering how crowdfunding on WeRaise works? Here's a step-by-step look at the process:

Step 1: Register

Register as a user on the site by clicking the 'Register' button in the top right corner. You'll just need to fill out the basic required information for now. Once you decide to start a project, you'll fill out the complete project leader profile.

Step 2: Build a Project

Now that you've completed the your personal profile, you can get the project process started. (If you want to make sure your project is a fit for the site before you get started, fill out the WeRaise Pre-Approval Application.)

Once you're ready, hit the 'Start Project' link at the top of the page. There you will choose the General WeRaise Template and begin creating your project. If you would like some extra guidance, tune into one of our free monthly crowdfunding webinars where we share crowdfunding tips and best practices. During this phase you'll also email your WeRaise Project Budget to

Step 3: Submit for Review

Once complete, you'll submit your project for review. The Wheat Ridge team reviews your project to make sure you've included all the required information. We will also review your project budget and verify your 501c3 status. We'll request edits, reject, or approve your project within 48 hours.

Step 4: Launch!

Once approved, you will be ready to launch your project whenever you're ready. You'll have the length of your campaign to reach your funding goal. Keep in mind, you have to raise 100% of goal to receive any of the funds at all.

Step 5: Receive the Funding

If you've raised at least 100% of your goal by the end of your campaign, the pledges will be processed. It takes 1-2 weeks for all the funds to be processed. Once completed the Wheat Ridge staff will send the project leader the funding details and a grant agreement. Send back the signed agreement and we'll get the check in the mail!

Step 6: Final Report & Possible Grants

One of the most exciting things about WeRaise is the opportunity for additional funding through the Wheat Ridge Ministries grant program. If your project closes successfully, we will request a follow-up report from you approximately 6 to 12 months after your project ends. Let us know how the ministry is going! This might also be a great time to consider applying to a Wheat Ridge Grant Program for more funding.
